Review: ‘A sumptuous dining room with a dose of theatre’

Caterer 13 JuneThis month, we were delighted to have had a warming visit from The Caterer & Hotelkeeper’s, Janet Harmer.

The review spoke of our new ‘modern menu showcasing an informal side to the Savoy’, referencing closely the fish and seafood options that ‘are undoubtably the stars of the show’. Janet highlighted how the transformation of the old River restaurant had now created a ‘an exceedingly swish space with Murano glass columns and a silver leafed ceiling’.

‘At it’s centre a fish counter.. where chef’s prepared seafood and inject an element of theatre into the room’, creating an atmosphere that ‘was missing from the hushed dining room of old’. The piece continues with menu recommendations including the popular Lobster Club Sandwich and Dover Sole, finishing with the ‘more theatrical’ Valrhona Manjari chocolate sphere.
